Erich and Marijane,
These are two separate (but both handy!) things. The link resolver settings as shown in that LibGuide are for linking from references in EndNote to full text using your library's subscriptions. Connection files are used to search the library catalog from within EndNote (via Z39.50) to find new references.
https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Knowledge_Articles/How_do_I_configure_a_connection_to_Alma_in_EndNote%3F shows the settings you'll need for Alma. It looks very standardized, so the easiest thing is probably to find another Alma library's connection file (Tools -> Connection Files -> Open Connection Manager) and then Edit it to swap in your own environment and institution code. This will need to be done from within EndNote. But as long as you've set up the Z39.50 integration profile (link at the top of the instructions on that Knowledgebase page) at Alma's end, any one of your users can tweak the connection file in their own EndNote. And then share it back to you so you can share it with your other patrons.
We haven't actually gone live with Alma yet, but I was researching this the other day to be ready when the time comes. And that's the approach I did to create a connection file for my last library when we switched to a different (and not Alma) ILS. I don't see why it wouldn't work for Alma.

Hi Erich,
We use Alma and EZProxy and all that's required to configure library access is the link resolver URL and the proxy URL. Users enter these themselves in EndNote's preferences. See our instructions here: https://libguides.ohsu.edu/c.php?g=1276410&p=9365445#s-lg-box-29625195

Hi, all.
We do not have a license for EndNote, but we do have faculty who purchase licenses and want to connect it directly to our resources/ALMA. I see that EndNote (and other Universities) have downloadable "connection files" (https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://endnote.com/downloads/connection-files/__;!!Mi0JBg!MVnUWhKffFiqg-wk997RNnv2TeMlm4c99mYd_Uxl7IXP0izv5z384Uqez6GY6mQX9fSEfP8fhAgFQfc$ <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://endnote.com/downloads/connection-files/__;!!Mi0JBg!MVnUWhKffFiqg-wk997RNnv2TeMlm4c99mYd_Uxl7IXP0izv5z384Uqez6GY6mQX9fSEfP8fhAgFQfc$> ), but those files are in a format that I can't decipher. Thus, I can't "steal" the configuration and modify it to work with our own system.
Does anyone have generic instructions for patrons to manually connect EndNote to your library data that I could try to modify to work for us?
Thanks,
Erich
